Alchemy of Beasts - Patch 3



This is note an April's Fool joke ! Patch 3 is here with a lot of changes coming right up !
This Patch focus is to make the game feels closer to the aimed experience. Which means a lot of QoL, more explanations but also a bit more content / mechanics which, hopefully, will make the game and so, the demo here, more fun to explore.


PATCH NOTE 3.0


CHANGES :

• 2 new potential endings
• Endings redesigned
• 1 new map to introduce to the forest
• 1 new "weird" map.
• 1 new potion
• A bit more time to help first runs
• Silver is now properly given by Silver ores and can be crushed
• Amber can now be gathered
• Amber can also be grinded
• Backpack isn't unlimited anymore and materials now have weight. Potions and powders are still free of charge.
• New craftable item to help with the backpack changes
• It is not possible to see the changes status in the menu. This will be replaced with a future feature. Opening the menu directly open the inventory now.
• There is now an option to stop time when crafting. Relax when making potion or just be sure to not miss any change happening during it.
• A new and optimized particle system has be added to the engine. This addition was possible thanks to your donations.
• Added a new visual for the transformation at the end of the demo
• Added more animation to the 75% curse changes
• Some placeholders sounds were changed to new ones
• Lab and its craftings stations got a visual upgrade
• Changed placeholder Buff animation when drinking a potion
• Potions recipes having now their true place in the grimoire, the previous clues about potion has be moved
• Sunfire potion now burn only when exploding and fire can spread
• Gathering no longer crit when a tool is needed
• Did you see something behind the trees ?
• Multiple small graphical improvements

QUALITY Of LIFE :

• Title menu now includes access to options and credits.
• More and clearer tutorials, especially for crafting
• Pop-up when you discover new recipe for Crafting
• Interactable gathering spots and items are now indicated by small particles floating around them.
• Pickups take the direction of your pocket faster
• It is now possible to crush materials without waiting the success animation to finish
• Getting a Grimoire now display a small animation to indicate how to open it
• Powders in the Brewing interface are now displaying the materials they were made from to help with colorblindness
• Brewing interface now shows which ingredients were added in the mix
• Default key bindings has be changed and keybinds tutorial is more complete. (Added the Run button ! )
• Changed default layout of item menu for quicker access to infos
• Made the graphics for the Sun Fire potion different to better understand we throw that one, don't drink !
• Drinking potions now display a timer showing how much time there is left before their effect run out.
• Shortcut buttons now display how many items is left when using it
• Potions pickups files has been optimized and should remove the loading when crafting each one for the first time
• There is now two menu button : Esc for Menu/options and X for Inventory
• Updated shortcuts UI
• UI now show when an action can be cancelled

BUG FIXES :

• 3.00
 Changed how the mouse is being registered. Which mean resizing the game window should not interfer with crafting now !
 The Mist now vanishes if an important Change is happening
 Secondary effects from the Curse shouldn't freeze anymore if the player is touched by Mist during their runtime
 Detection of player nearby Gathering nodes has been redone and should not impact performance anymore.
 It shouldn't be possible to open Grimoire during the Werefox transformation anymore, causing the game to softlock.
 Changes now follow the animation when brewing
 Camera wasn't resetting properly after crafting
 Fairy Ring potion recipe was only working one way
 Agility Potion should now give the movement speed buff even after transitioning to another map
 Thoughts shouldn't move some Grimoire info around
 Wild summon potion should now spawn fully grown mushrooms at any time of the day, how it was initially planned
 Optimized pickups icon spawns
 Some resources had to be touched to be gatherable. Interaction should be as large as others ones now.
 There was an error call in the console during the evening. It wasn't impacting gameplay but it got fixed to ensure stability.
 Thoughts doesn't make a bowl disappear
 Burning a bush while being inside will not make slow forever
• 3.01 : Removed conflict between A/Q and movement keys
• 3.02 : The above conflict was still affecting notes. Also fixed.
• 3.03 :
Autosave overwritten manual save.
Wild summon potion not spawning. (Recipe will also change for balance purpose)
Last secret not unlocking
• 3.04 :
Having more stick than needed in the intro give you weightless sticks.
Changes vanishes on weird maps.
Pop up windows stay during endings.
Corrected wrong Z indexes on some tiles in new maps
Secondary changes still appear during and after endings
Softlock if Tail appear during crafting
Agility potion doesn't apply back after Tail popped up
Actions buttons vanishing if no Grimoire in inventory after craft
Throwing a Sunfire potion at the same frame than being touched by the Mist was making it unable to use Sun Fire potions after the animation was done.
Sun Fire potion is now refunded if you're caught by the Mist during the throw

Corrected Wild Summon potion recipe popup
Endings text should now be forced in the middle. If it continues to appear at the top of the screen, please give details ! It's a weird one !

As this is a BIG patch, please be aware it will not be surprising to find tons of new glitches ! Be sure to report them if you found some so hot fixes get released faster !

There is also some performance issues within the forest map which I wasn't able to identify yet. Any clue is welcome ! Thank you !
